Tom Hessert will be driving the #77 Cunningham Motorsports Dodge for the 2010 season in the ARCA Racing Series presented by RE/MAX and Menards. Hessert is a three year ARCA veteran, who will be competing for the series championship, under the guidance of NASCAR veteran, John Monsam. Tom progressed to the ARCA Series through Go Karts, the Barber Dodge Pro series, Quarter Midgets, Micro Sprints, USAC Midgets, Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona, IMSA Super Modifieds, and USAR Hooters Pro Cup series. He has won multiple regional championships, as well as many feature races in these divisions.
Some of Tom's highlights include:
In 2009 & 2008, Hessert competed for the full season in the ARCA RE/MAX series, finishing 8th in championship points.
In 2007, Tom competed in the USAR Hooters Pro Cup series, with 2 top-10 finishes. He made his 1st ARCA start.
In 2006, Hessert raced in the USAC National Midget Series and the ISMA Super Modified series.
In 2005 & 2004, Tom ran in the USAC National Midget Series, finishing 5th in the Night Before the 500 USAC National Midget Championship race both years.
In 2003 & 2004, Hessert competed twice in the prestigious Rolex 24 Hours of Daytona with his father, Tom Hessert, Jr., who is a 3 time winner-in-class of the Rolex 24. In 2003, he was the first 16 year old to compete in the Rolex 24 Hour race.
In 2000-2002, he raced in the Micro Sprint series and the USAC Midget series.
Hessert competed in the Quarter Midget series and the Go-Kart series, where he won many races and multiple regional championships.
The team moved into a new shop in Mooresville, North Carolina, where NASCAR veteran, Paul Andrews will be the General Manager for the Cunningham organization. Hessert's teammate for the 2010 season will be rookie candidate, Dakoda Armstrong.
